Hard Hiatus.
Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10:14AM Hi Everyone,
As you have no doubt figured out by now The Hard Rain Show is going through some changes. I've been doing the show for about a year now and have loved every minute of it. I'd never done a show like this and had no idea how much work goes into getting a show produced and put out there for the world to listen to. In spite of that though nothing I've done in a long time was as fulfilling as finishing the process and announcing it was out there for who ever might care.
If all I cared about was having a good time I could keep doing the show as is forever. However that's not why I jumped into this. I, like so many other people across the country, have become (even before Obama) more and more concerned about America's future. I don't imagine I can 'save the world' like some liberal idiot but I would like to contribute in some small way to the effort to save and preserve this country. A lot of people say they love the country, and they probably do, but how many can or will take time out of their schedule to try to do something. The show was my "something" or my "some thing" to use the same language I use against the President.
I've come to wonder how much of a market there is for a once-a-week, one hour, internet talk show that's modeled on traditional talk shows available on the radio. I don't personally listen to anything similar to my show and I'm more or less my target audience. Young, Tech savvy, right of center, politically engaged men. Of course all women are welcome, but the talk radio audience is overwhelmingly male. It is also older, and therefore probably not that tech-savvy.
There are of course many examples of conservatives having a successful online presence. RedState, Michelle Malkin, Breitbart, etc. have a huge impact with their sites as do many others. So long story short I am reconsidering just what Hard Rain should be. Until I figure that out I'll post sporadically about whatever happens to strike me as interesting. I also hope to get more videos up at YouTube eventually so keep an eye on our channel.
And of course all the other places to connect with Hard Rain remain in place.
