Obama on passing bills with 50 + 1 votes then and now.

Obama uses Doctors as props yet again in his latest TV appearance to push the latest version of Health Care.

In his latest proposal Obama claims to be incorporating four Republican ideas (which didn't exist as recently as last week.) Here's the ideas and my deconstruction of them

1. Combating Waste, Fraud, and Abuse. - So Democrats must have been for waste, fraud, and abuse or at least against combating it.
2. Medical Malpractice Reform. - $50 Million (or $1 Million per state) to explore alternatives to court. Here's one. Not suing because tort reform has made it unlikely you can prove your BS case in court.
3. Medicaid Reimbursements. - Actually paying a doctor for the work they do.
4. Health Care Exchange Plans. - Letting private companies sell the product they want to customers who want to buy them.

Co-pays are one of the worst things to happen to Health Care in this country.

Are Pro-life Democrats the only hope for blocking health care bill? 

Democrats will never stop pushing for the government to run the health care system in America. It literally turns independent people into dependent people. And dependent people help make up a group Democrats call, the base.

Al Gore reappears, downplays Climategate, and reads a little poetry. Sounds like someone is a fan of a certain conservative talk shows podcast.

The pointless waste of time known as the Health Care Summit kicks off with Congressman Rob Andrews (D-NJ) talking BS about women being kicked out of hospitals after having c-sections. Republicans of course support kicking women out of hospitals, right? We're Republicans. So do it. Do the mean thing, do it meanly, cause I'm a Republican.

Every Democrat has some sad sack story about somebody with health care problems.

Obama monopolizes the speaking time but says his time doesn't count because he's the president. Jerk.

Regardless of what happens Democrats plan to cram some thing through. They are even threatening to use reconciliation in the Senate. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid recently said Republicans should, "stop crying," about reconciliation. We take a look back at what Democrats had to say about Republican attempts to use reconciliation. It's quite a bit different than, "stop crying."

The media is trying to divide and conquer in light of Scott Brown's vote for Obama's jobs package. I have no problem with Senator Brown's vote and haven't heard any real complaints about it. I've only heard media reports of complaints about it. Divide and Conquer.

Remember Obama's Senior Advisor (at the time the Co-Chair of Obama's Transition Team) Valerie Jarrett saying Obama was, "prepared to really take power and begin to 'rule' day one." Now after one year of not getting everything he wanted from Congress, Obama is now preparing to push his agenda through with the use of executive orders.

Obama is said to be preparing to use executive power, meaning; executive orders, agency rule making, and administrative fiat. It's good to be the king.

Obama celebrates the one year anniversary of the stimulus plan. The stimulus, intended to cost $787 Billion and keep unemployment at 8% instead cost $862 Billion and gave us unemployment rates over 10%. Also, most of the money from the stimulus still hasn't been spent, so how can it be $75 Billion more than we were originally told?

In yet another attempt to by-pass Congress the President is putting together a Deficit Commission. He has appointed Erskine Bowles (A Democrat. President Clinton's Chief Of Staff) chair, and former Senator Alan Simpson (R-WY) co-chair. I think we might be saved.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announces that Iran is now a "Nuclear State." The announcement comes on the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution that put the current government in place. Specifically it means Iran can and now has produced enriched Uranium suitable for use in nuclear power plants. They also claim to have the capacity to produce enriched uranium suitable for use in nuclear weapons.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls for "crippling" sanctions on Iran.

Sanctions had no effect on Saddam Hussein and they'll have no effect on Iran.

Unemployment falls to 9.7% in January in spite of a net loss of jobs as more people fall off the unemployment rolls.

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown signals some banks are supportive of a global tax.

As we told you last week on Hard Rain, health care is not dead. Pelosi is still scheming to get the House to pass the Senate bill as is. Meanwhile the President is trying to get Republicans to join him in public discussions on passing the current bills in the House and Senate. The bills none of them voted for.

Republicans are calling for dropping the current bills and starting over. Obama rejects that so far and wants to throw a few crumbs to Republicans in exchange for enough votes to pass his top legislative priority. If Republicans are smart they'll have no part of the current bills.

After railing against multi-million dollar bonuses for AIG last year, the President now says he doesn't "begrudge" bonuses for CEO's at JP Morgan Chase and Goldman Sachs. He must need some campaign contributions.

Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, John Brennan says in an op-ed that critics of the President are, "serving the goals of al-Qaeda." Jackass.

After experiencing several set backs in his first year Obama deliver's his first State of the Union address.

His solution to the economic crisis? Repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. It's been hell on the economy hasn't it?

Obama also proposes a spending freeze on non-defense, discretionary spending, which is only 1/6 of the budget. He still wants his trillion dollar health care plan, though. It would be non-discretionary spending. It could go up as much as Obama wants.

The president also lashed out at the recent Supreme Court decision striking down major parts of campaign finance reform.

Tim Tebow is facing criticism from the left, for appearing in a Super Bowl ad with his mother relating her decision not to abort Tim after doctors advised her to do so during a fight with amoebic dysentery.

The Long Island newspaper Newsday spent $4 Million redesigning and relaunching their website, with the nifty idea to charge $5 a week to anyone who wanted to see it, along with the ads they also sell on the site. Congratulations to Senator Scott Brown! He defeated the Democrat 52% to 47% by campaigning as the 41st vote against the health care takeover.

Obama blames George W. Bush for the loss of Ted Kennedy's former seat.

Barney Frank urges the Senate to change the rules requiring 60 votes for cloture. He hasn't mentioned this desire to change the rules before. I wonder what might have changed this week to inspire this change in opinion. Change.

An attempted bombing on Northwest Flight 253, Christmas Day. The bomber, Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab is the pampered son of wealthy former Nigerian banker, Umaru Abdul Mutallab. 

The bomb apparently malfunctioned and did not explode. The bomber was then tackled by Jasper Schuringa, a Dutch filmmaker. 

Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security Secretary, assures everyone that the, "system worked." After several minutes of laughter she clarified things by saying the, "system failed." Good job Janet.

Obama hid in Hawaii for a few days before emerging, looking super cool with no tie on, to address what he called the "alleged" attempt to set off a bomb. Coolest...President...Ever.

Hard Rain Show producer Zap Rowsdower couldn't be here for this episode, but he still turns in another 'I'm Sick Of This Crap" rant. This week he talks about the past ten years of changes.
